CHEMICAL METERING SKID (CMS)

The CMS is designed for metered injection of liquid demulsifiers and corrosion inhibitors into the oil transfer and treatment pipes for oil emulsion breaking, and line and equipment protection against corrosion, paraffin deposits, etc.

The chemical metering skid consists of process and equipment compartments (standard configuration).

THE PROCESS COMPARTMENT INCLUDES:

  • A metering pump for continuous volumetric dosing of liquid demulsifiers and corrosion inhibitors
  • Electrical injection pump units of plunger or diaphragm type, that provide continuous volumetric dosing of chemicals
  • A gear pump for batch mixing of the chemical and maintaining its temperature within specified limits
  • A welded feed tank of rectangular section for metered injection of specific amounts of liquid demulsifiers and corrosion inhibitors into the pipeline within a specified period of time
  • A welded non-pressure process tank of rectangular section for chemical storage and preheating equipped with an electric heater, a level sight gauge with a ruler, upper and lower limit level detectors, and a filler neck with a filter and a breathing opening
  • Instruments for process parameters control and control panels

THE EQUIPMENT COMPARTMENT HAS A CONTROL CABINET WITH THE FOLLOWING FUNCTIONS:

  • Automatic filling of the process tank with the chemical and automatic stop of the gear pump when the tank filling is completed
  • Local control of the chemical pressure and temperature
  • Automatic temperature control of the electric heater installed in the tank
  • Automatic temperature control of the electric heating in the control cabinet
  • Manual local control of the metering pumps, fan, electric heaters and lighting
  • Automatic shutdown of metering pumps at the pressure increase and minimum level of the chemical in the process tank
  • Keeping air temperature in the compartments within specified limits
  • Process equipment alarm indication
  • Short circuit protection of the lighting electrical circuits
  • Monitoring and control for process equipment of various design with a possibility of remote control and skid connection to the upper level PCS
  • Explosion-proof electrical equipment and instruments, and cables and wires with copper conductors
